Film Review – Review of film ‘ROY’

This film begins with a unexciting note. There is the film director Kabir Grewal (Arjun Rampal) suffereing from writers block and unable to even start off with the opening line of his story. He has his typewriter before him to start off with some writing. But, then he moves to Malaysia to start shooting for his film. There meets another Indie lady film maker Ayesha Aamir (Jaqueline Fernandez) from London and falls in love with her. The lady is never seen shooting any scenes and this makes one feel what in the hell she is doing in Malaysia, really shooting or just in the role to become the lover of the protagonist in the film.

Kabir nuilds up his story around the character of Roy (Ranbir Kapoor) who is said to be the master thief in stealing art works from museums in France, China, Qatar and India. Now Kabir brings in a look-alike of Ayesha to cast opposite Roy, so a double role for the heroine.

Roy, the hero does not have much to depict as the main character. Kabir is happy to have Ayesha as his 23rd girlfriend. There is not much to say about the proceeding of the story as boredom creeps in in no time.

The Director of the film Vikramjit Singh must be in two minds as to what to give preference to while working with the making of this film.

This film is an utter disappointment for the viewer as it is hard to know what is happening and why.

It is just a waste of time to watch this movie. If rating is to be given, this film deserves a 1.

For me I just wasted my time and got a headache after seeing this. What’s the beginning and what’s the ending…that leaves one guessing from the beginning to the end.
